I asked if he could pump my tyre, and he said of course he could, and while I stepped away to check my bike he binned my tube, put a new premium price one in, and charged me $30 for the pleasure. $10 for the tube, and $20 for "getting his hands dirty" aka two minutes of work. When I asked if there was a leak, he said no but I would need a new tube to avoid my tyre going flat, clearly trying to take advantage of me because I looked like I didn't know bikes.
